TheTen Commandments
Millions of people all over the world and much of evangelicalizm today has drifted from the authority of Scripture in many ways. One of the most dangerous ways is in the area of evangelism. Because of their desire for cultural relevance and a sincere desire to reach as many people as possible for Christ, many Evangelicals have altered the gospel message to be as positive and attractive as possible. They seek to be relevant to the interests and desires of the unbeliever at the expense of biblical truth.
It is a very sad fact that catholic church has changed the Ten Commandments in such way, that huge part of christianity became an occult. The cult of "Mary" is one of the biggest problems the so called "christians" are in the midst of, but I will write separately on this topic.
What was changed??? Second commandment was removed, which gave the quick start to worshipping idols, and of course to braking of the first and most important commandment:"...You shall have no other gods before me." To make up for the loss of the Second Commandment , the catholic church divided the Tenth Commandment in two.....WHAT?! Now the numbers are correct, right???
Now, the Fourth Commandment: "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God....". The papal church changed the Saturday (Sabbath day) which is a seventh day of the week to Sunday the first day of the week, which always was a day of pagan's worship. Sadly enough, even the Protestant church nowadays followed the steps of catholics and worships on Sundays, and that's according to the Bible is a BIG NO-NO. You shall follow 10 commandments, not 9 commandments, 10% discount does not apply here. Jesus Himself always kept the Sabbath. Even after His death on the cross, He rested on Sabbath Day and then on the third day He rose from the grave.
People blindly follow what is popular, without questioning.
The Ten Commandments are NOT (10)Ten suggestions, they are (10)TEN COMMANDMENTS. Jesus said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." (Mathew 5:17 NIV) "IF..you love me...keep my commandments", (John 14:15).
When Jesus said, ‘If you love Me, keep My commandments,” He was describing the effect of love, not the essence of love. Love comes first, and obedience follows. Love and obedience are not the same thing, so don't think that just by doing good you are safe. When you follow His commandments because you love Him, then you are safe.
From the very mouth of Christ himself.....he says that the keeping of the 10 commandments of God, (as found in Exodus 20:3-17) ....is showing love for him.
Now, why could Jesus say that these commandments are his ? Because Jesus Himself wrote the 10 commandments himself...with his very own finger...on stone tablets
For those who are not familiar with the true Ten Commandments, here they are:
The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)
1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
3 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
5 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
6 “You shall not murder.
7 “You shall not commit adultery.
8 “You shall not steal.
9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”
