The main message of the Bible can be understood by a child.
This is opposed to false, twisted and perverted teachings of the catholic church throughout the ages, which say that nobody can understand the Bible but the clergy. Bible does say however "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (1 Corinthians 2:14) can you tell the difference between those two statements?
I remember being around 12 years of age or so and was asked by a priest to read a verse from the Bible. I would like to mention here, that the Bible was taken from the shelf only ones a year around Easter holiday, when the priests walk from house to house collecting so called donations. After reading the verse, he looked down at me and with the big sarcasm and smile said: and what did you understand from this?!
You don't have to be a theologian to understand the simplicity of the message:
- There is only one true God (as Holy Trinity: God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, all three are ONE).
- God is pure, sovereign and just.
- God does not requires sacrifices, He wants direct and personal relationship with His children.
- God never changes, He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
- God accepts everyone without partiality, whoever calls on His name.
- Worship in spirit and in truth
- Salvation by faith alone through Jesus Christ, the only way to Heaven, no others, no substitutions, no exeptions.
- Forgiveness of sins through repentence not by works or vain repetitions of prearranged prayers.
The Holy Bible is the
Word of God, His letter to everyone on earth, spoken through chosen people who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
God said everything about Himself that we need to know. To get to know Him, one can only do through reading the Bible.
The Bible is a "finished product", nothing can be added, taken away or changed, NO ONE on earth has the authority to do so. Furthermore, even God would not do it, He never changes His "mind"
"For I am the Lord, I do not change..." (Malachi 3:6), if He did, that would make Him a lier. And the only one who would want to change it would be satan, the god of lies, god of this world as
Jesus called him.
Catholic church has been changing, taking away from the Bible, creating all kinds of traditions since the beginning of it's existence. By doing so they put themselves above God of all creation. They basically step with dirty shoes over the teachings of
Jesus and the apostles, no wonder they don't encourage the reading of the Bible by people.......because they would find out about the truth.
