"...Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3) "...I am the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) "From Rebel to Christian" Robert B. Terlikowski grew up in communist Poland in catholic family around false doctrines and traditions of men, which in big part (as he realizes now) led him to live an extremely rough way of life. Rebel in nature he went through multitudes of difficulties without knowing how to correctly cope with them. Drugs, alcohol and agressive behavior were among the "medications". In 1988 Robert came to United States in search of a better living, instead he found himself very disappointed. Different mentality, care for money, discrimination and fast pace living just to name few, were not what he always imagined about America. Surviving in a new world was not easy. In 1996 Robert's older brother Jarek is brutaly killed. Jarek was also his true friend and supporter. Again, without proper help and guidance Robert's problems, now also including depression drasticaly escalated and in 2003 he ended up in prison. Broken down and helpless there he heard the message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ. Robert's view of life took a BIG turn. After his release, Robert searched for Bible believing church. Crossroads Community Cathedral of East Hartford is where he was baptized and his new found faith is being built. Roberts wife Katarzyna also gave her heart to Christ. Their life, although not without "bumps" has a totally different meaning. Being a self taught musician after 18 years of no contact with instruments, there came the opportunity to be a part of his church's worship team. In 2007 without any experience in music recording, Robert decided to compose and to express through his songs the love, peace and changes that took place after he gave his heart to Jesus Christ, who loves and accepts everyone without partiality. There are hundreds, if not thousands of books, tapes, cd's, tv shows and such, on how to change your life, make money or find happiness (usually it's about money). We are brain washed from every direction. We all want to be like celebrities, wear expensive clothes, drive fancy cars, we try different religions, we slap brand names on everything, even our bodies. We pretend and try to be someone else or like someone else, our ambitions are eating us up. Do we really hate ourselves so much?! What about the real me? |
